Equality, diversity and inclusion activities 2024

We are committed to supporting, promoting, and celebrating the wonderful and diverse range of individuals who make up our firm. We are always keen to further initiatives that promote equality, diversity, and inclusion and have been delighted with the great turnout we have had at the various awareness-raising events and initiatives we have run internally in the last 12 months.

Highlights this year include:

  • Marking Menopause Awareness Month with an informative talk by Lauren Chiren, following which the firm has started a menopause support group.
  • Celebrating Black History Month through book selections in our internal book club.
  • Delivering impactful Inclusive Leadership training to our partners and heads of department, run by Sasha Scott from Inclusive Group.
  • Encouraging colleagues to come together for Time to Talk Day to take some time out to talk with others over a cup of tea and a biscuit.
  • Delivering talks to local schools for International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
  • Running a panel discussion with two inspiring female leaders in their fields, Josie Wright and Catharine Clark
  • We embraced this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme of “Movement: Moving more for our mental health” with organised walks from each of our offices and an online desk yoga session. This was so popular that the walks have become a regular event and we will be running more yoga sessions.
  • In June we welcomed back Sasha Scott from Inclusive Group to help us celebrate Pride month with a practical session on how to be a supportive ally.
  • Supporting the IP Inclusive Summer of IP initiative with some of our attorneys and business support teams delivering open sessions about careers in IP to those considering entering the profession.

With other sessions and activities to come over the next few months International Day of Persons with Disabilities and Race Equality Week, we look forward to continuing to raise awareness of EDI issues to ensure we provide a workplace where everyone feels included.
