Client alert: unsolicited mail or invoices
IP applicants appear to be receiving unsolicited mail from companies requesting payment for services such as publication, registration or entry in business directories and renewal/annuity fees.
This is a new scam where they are requesting payment for renewal/annuity fees using headed paper from known renewal fee providers. Should you have any doubts about unsolicited mail please do not hesitate to contact us.
If your receive such an invoice, please:
- Do not pay it.
- Contact your usual attorney or solicitor to inform them (and if possible, send them a copy).
- Alert any colleagues who might also receive such communications.
