General Court - specialised IP chambers
The General Court in Luxembourg recently welcomed seven new judges and is now composed of 53 judges. In view of this increase in size and to enable the enlarged college to work effectively, the General Court adopted various internal structural changes.
Most importantly, out of the ten chambers a total of six chambers will now deal with all cases of intellectual property (in 2018: 301 out of a total of 732 cases).
The other four chambers deal with all staff cases (2018: 93 cases) and the remaining cases (2018: 338) are distributed among all ten chambers.
The new system applies as of 27 September 2019 (and until 31 August 2022).
