Chinese and UK qualified patent attorney Nigel Lee joins D Young & Co patent group
D Young & Co LLP is pleased to announce the appointment of Chartered and Chinese Patent Attorney Nigel Lee to its patent team. Nigel has extensive experience working as a patent attorney in China and most recently for the IP Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government as a senior patent examiner leading the electricity team. For more than three years, Nigel assisted the Chinese Hong Kong Patent Registry in establishing examination practice for the original grant patent (OGP) system, and was involved in the drafting of legislation and examination guidelines, as well as examining and granting the first batch of new patents.
As a Chinese Patent Attorney Nigel’s focus has been on patent infringement and invalidation disputes before the Chinese courts and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). He has advised Fortune 500 companies on telecommunication patent litigation projects involving standard essential patents (SEPs). Nigel also handles patent drafting and prosecution work in various jurisdictions including China, the US and Europe. Electronic engineering including LED display technologies, integrated circuit design, parallel computing systems, wireless communication, image processing, sensor systems, complex algorithmic processes and advanced packaging technologies are his particular specialisms.
Nigel’s working languages are English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).
