Miranda Simmons
I joined D Young & Co’s patent team as a technical assistant in October 2020. I enjoy the variety of my work, and applying my technical background in physics to my role.
Before joining D Young & Co, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in physics at the University of Bristol. During my final year, my work largely focussed on thermodynamics, and I gained valuable client experience working with a local artist to develop an art installation showcasing the phase changes of water.
Since joining the firm, I have gained experience in the prosecution of UK and European patent applications, covering a wide range of electrical and mechanical technologies. I also have experience with the recording of transfers and licences of patent rights, as well as other changes to the register, at both the UKIPO and the EPO.
