Profile of Peter Quinn

I joined the patent team at D Young & Co in 2024 with a technical background in chemistry.

Since joining the firm, I have gained experience in the prosecution of European and foreign patent applications.

Prior to joining D Young & Co, I worked for several years in R&D and production chemistry roles across the flavours and fragrances, pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. My expertise includes physical organic chemistry, with a focus on reaction kinetics and mechanisms involving transition metals, organocatalysts and Brønsted acid/base catalysis, as well as synthetic organic chemistry, process chemistry and scale-up, where I have contributed to both new and improved scalable chemical processes.

Qualifications

  • MChem in Chemistry, Durham University 2014.
  • PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry, Durham University 2018.

  • Student member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA).
  • Student member of the European Patent Institute (epi).
