SPC case law update

In this webinar European patent attorney Garreth Duncan discusses important 2019 SPC-related developments starting with the long-running litigation between Gilead Sciences and a number of generics companies on SPCs for combination drugs, followed by two CJEU cases (C-650/17 and C-114/18) relating to how specifically an approved drug should be described and claimed in the basic patent in order to qualify for SPC protection, third party SPCs (C-239/19) obtained by applicants without the consent of the marketing authorisation (MA) holder, as well as and SPCs and Brexit.
